August Give: Cradles to Crayons Now reading:

This August, we've partnered with Cradles to Crayons to donate essential clothing to children in need across Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, and more.

Cradles to Crayons was founded by Lynn Margherio when she was helping her young niece get dressed and realized how quickly she was outgrowing her clothes. She thought to herself, "how can we place these gently used items in the hands of people who need them most?"

And so in 2002, Cradles to Crayons was born. Their mission remains to provide children from birth through age 12 with the everyday essentials they need to thrive — at home, at school, and at play. They are motivated by creating a future free of childhood poverty for children worldwide.

Each year, Cradles to Crayons hosts Backpack-A-Thons to equip kids for the school year.
