October Give: Safe Haven Foster Shoppe
/ November 01, 2025
For our October Give Back, we are proud to partner with Safe Haven Foster Shoppe, a nonprofit organization providing essential items to children in foster care across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Their mission is to ensure that no child enters foster care empty-handed by delivering personalized placement bags filled with necessities and comfort items to help children feel safe and cared for during a difficult transition.
Â
Nearly 428,000 children are in foster care in the United States, many entering new placements with little more than the clothes on their backs. Safe Haven Foster Shoppe is changing that reality by providing brand-new, age, gender, and size-specific bags to children within 24 hours of placement. Each bag includes clothing, pajamas, socks, underwear, toiletries, a blanket, a stuffed animal, and a book, with additional items such as coats, shoes, and school supplies available upon request. For teens and infants, the bags are further customized with hygiene products, bottles, or pacifiers, ensuring every child receives what they truly need.

Working hand-in-hand with county and private foster agencies, Safe Haven Foster Shoppe delivers every bag directly to family service buildings or foster homes. This hands-on approach ensures that children receive care quickly while giving foster families and social workers an important resource to ease transitions.
