Featured Mom: Meet Kenydie

 /

We love following along with each of your stories, and watching your littles grow, along with all the ups and downs of being a mama. Today, Kenydie, mom to a beautiful baby girl, and USAF wife is sharing a little about her journey in motherhood!

Tell us a little about yourself!

Hi! my name is Kenydie. I’m a military wife and mama to one beautiful baby girl and two doggies! We enjoy hiking, biking, and trying new restaurants.

Most rewarding thing about being a mama?

The most rewarding thing about being a mama is seeing her smile. All. The. Time. I’m not sure what she’s exactly thinking, but it makes me feel good to see her happy.

What are some of your favorite ways to pass the time with the kiddos?

Some of my favorite things we do to pass time are walking the aisles of Target and doing all of the fun, messy sensory activities!

Haha, love it! What advice would you give to an expecting mother?

The best advice I could give is don’t take unsolicited advice, take the Taking Cara Babies sleep course, and really just soak up every moment. Nothing anyone says could be more true than when they say time is a thief. Soak up all of those newborn moments.

How do you try to stay present and “in-the-moment”, especially with your littles?

I try to stay present and “in the moment” by staying off of my phone when I am with my family and especially my babe so that I can give everyone my undivided attention. We live in a very technological world and can very easily get caught up in the constant need to be glued to a screen. I don’t want to be someone who regrets not spending enough time with my family or baby because I got caught up in my screen.

Share your favorite "mom-hack!"

My favorite mom hack is blending Cheerios up in the food processor to roll slippery solid foods in while practicing baby-led weaning! I can’t take credit for that though. It was all from the Feeding Littles course! Another course I would highly recommend to moms who are wanting to try things the baby-led way.

Oh, I love that! Share a product that made parenting easier!

THE best product that made parenting easier and strengthened my relationship with my husband was the Taking Cara Babies sleep courses. It’s straining on a relationship in so many ways when you’re sleep-deprived and have an overtired baby. It saved our butts.

What mom chore would you forever outsource?

The mom chore I would forever outsource is honestly cleaning the highchair and floor after every meal hahaha!

Favorite book to read to your kids?

My favorite book to read to my baby is a tie between On The Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman and Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.

Your favorite cozy item at Colored Organics?

My FAVORITE item is the long-sleeved onesies. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with them. They fit nearly every season and every outfit. Not to mention they’re the softest onesies I’ve ever purchased.
