CO Mom Feature: Meet Mona

Tell us a little about yourself!

Hi my name is Mona Fox! I am 31 years old and I am a mother to a 2-year old named Sienna and my husband and I are expecting our second child in February 2022. My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years and we live in beautiful, sunny California. I am currently working as a Student-Recovery Specialist for at-risk youth, and working towards becoming an elementary school teacher in the near future.

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a mom?

The hugs, the smiles and kisses! Watching my daughter grow up and have her own unique personality has been the most rewarding thing for me. I enjoy learning about her newest interests and everyday she seems to amaze me.

What was the most surprising thing you discovered about being a mom?

I am still amazed at what our bodies can do. The fact that we can bring humans into this world is on another level. I was also surprised at how my motherly instincts kicked in naturally because in all honesty, I thought I didn't have it in me. Now I can't get enough snuggles from my child and I am completely obsessed!

What does self-care mean to you? How do you take time for yourself and what does it look like?

Before I became a mom, self-care meant spa days and going out to get my nails done. Nowadays, those days are so much more different. I would describe self-care as just having time to myself to go on Target trips or even laying on the couch watching tv while enjoying some good food.

What mom chore/task/duty would you forever outsource?

I would outsource cleaning! I am constantly picking up after my daughter. Her toys have taken over our entire living room.

What’s your favorite cozy piece from Colored Organics? Favorite thing about Colored Organics?

The jogger and pullover set are my favorite! What I like most about Colored Organics are the neutral tones as well as their minimalistic prints. Not only that but their quality & durability is amazing even after several washes. I also love that I can mix and match the majority of their pieces to create different outfits for my daughter.

What advice would you give to an expecting mama?

Soak in every moment because time really does fly by! Even in those tough moments when you feel discouraged, just remember that this is a small stage in your life and that moment will pass and you will miss it.
