2020: Our Year In Review
January 19, 2021
/To say this has been a year for the history books is an understatement. As we know it, almost every single part of our lives have changed. Things have been changing quite a bit around the Colored Organics headquarters, too! While this year has been different, we’re constantly reminded of how lucky we are with the support from our incredible customers, wholesale partners, and Colored Organics team.
Together, we’ve been able to successfully give over $50,000 and helped cloth thousands of children in need. Above all, our goal is always to better the lives of everyone that interacts with our product. Thanks to your support in this wild year, we’ve been able to do so much more than we imagined possible.
In January, we partnered with the Homeless Prenatal Program. By donating newborn and toddler clothing, we were able to help them break the cycle of childhood poverty in San Francisco.
In February, we worked with CAMBA, which has helped over 65,000 families in the New York City area.
Ah, the March that we’ll always remember. In addition to working with Emergency Infant Services, our team shifted to working virtually as the COVID-19 virus spread across the country.
We’re getting a hang of this work-from-home in our PJ’s thing! As we adapted, we focused our resources on our own community Union Gospel Mission of the Twin Cities, donating baby and toddler clothing.
In May, we partnered with the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. We were able to outfit every babe on their NICU floor with our coziest gowns and knotted hats!
Minneapolis was reeling in the wake of George Floyd’s death. Colored Organics donated baby essentials and non-perishable items to those in need to rebuild the community we love so much. We also made monetary donations to The Conscious Kid and Color of Change.
In July, we were proud to partner with Generation Her, which does work across Southern California to empower teenage mothers.
August was a busy month for our growing team! We welcomed a new Social Media Marketing Coordinator, Emma, and a new Customer Service Specialist, Anna. We also brought our Graphic Designer, Sara, on to our team full time! This month, we also partnered with Door of Hope to donate youth and baby clothing.
In September, we were so excited to have Magnolia Market begin carrying Colored Organics! We also worked with Win NYC to help them provide resources to homeless women and children in the NYC area.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we donated clothing to families within the United Breast Cancer Foundation’s network.
In November, our team took a moment to celebrate all we’re grateful for. We packed snack bags for kids in partnership with the Greater Twin Cities United Way. For Giving Tuesday, we matched 1 for 1 every purchase made on with clothing donations to the Good Plus Foundation.
As we closed out the year, it’s been exciting to look back on the collections we’ve released, and the adorable babes we shared them with. We continued through the holiday season with our partnership with the Good Plus Foundation, raising in total $8,000 for their work across the country.
We sincerely wish you and your family a safe and cozy holiday season. We’re incredibly grateful to all of those who have supported our small, women-owned business in this historic year, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for 2021!
