May Give: Operation Showers of Appreciation

In honor of Memorial Day, this month we're proud to partner with Operation Showers of Appreciation. This organization works with expectant military families to provide them with everything they need before the arrival of their child.

OSOA was started in 2006 when Kimberly Felshaw was pregnant with her first child while her spouse was actively deployed. The community rallied around her to throw a baby shower which provided her with items she needed to care for their daughter. Sadly, their first daughter Allysa, passed away only three weeks later due to a rare terminal disease. The community once again joined together to help the Felshaw family through this difficult time.

Inspired by support she was given, Kimberly started Operation Showers of Appreciation to help expecting mothers in military families. Since their start, the organization has been able to help 3,500+ military families across the country by hosting baby showers.

We are proud to donate newborn hats and bodysuits to an organization that works to ease new parent worries for military families around the country. The stress of having a family member deployed is so high, and doing so while pregnant is an even greater challenge. To learn more about how to contribute to these baby showers, visit their website
