June Give: 914Cares

For our June Give Back, we are proud to partner with 914Cares, an organization dedicated to providing Westchester County families with the basic essentials they need to survive and thrive. Through the distribution of diapers, clothing, hygiene products, period supplies, books, and baby essentials, 914Cares helps ensure children and caregivers have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Located just north of New York City, Westchester County is often viewed as one of the wealthiest communities in the nation. Yet behind that perception, many families struggle to afford basic necessities. Too often, caregivers are forced to choose between paying rent, purchasing groceries, or providing essentials like diapers, hygiene products, and clothing. Without access to these items, children and families face barriers that affect their health, education, and long-term stability.

Founded in 2014 after recognizing that many local families lacked access to basic essentials, 914Cares was created to help bridge this critical gap in the community. Today, the organization works through a people-powered, partner-driven model that maximizes the impact of every donation. By partnering with more than 200 community organizations, they efficiently distribute essential items directly to families who need them most.

Their programs address critical needs at every stage of childhood:

• Diaper Bank: Through this program, families receive diapers at no cost, helping reduce financial stress while promoting children's health and comfort.
• Clothing+: Children receive a week's worth of clothing, shoes, books, and other essentials selected specifically for each recipient, helping them feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for school.
• Hygiene Products: Families receive full-sized hygiene essentials that support health, well-being, and confidence.
• Period Supplies: This program provides a month's supply of tampons, pads, and liners, ensuring recipients have access to the products they need to fully participate in school, work, and daily life.
• Baby Basics: Families with infants receive six months of essential supplies, including diapers, wipes, clothing, baby gear, and other necessities that support a child's healthy development.
• Literacy Library: Children receive free, age-appropriate books that help foster a love of reading and encourage educational success from an early age.
