January Give: Helping Mamas

For our January Give Back, we are honored to partner with Helping Mamas, an organization dedicated to providing essential baby items and period products to families facing financial hardship. Their work centers on ensuring families have access to basic necessities that support health, dignity, and stability during critical stages of parenthood.

Helping Mamas was founded by social worker and mother Jamie Lackey, who witnessed firsthand the growing gap in services for families unable to afford diapers and menstrual products. From parents reusing disposable diapers to teenagers missing school due to a lack of period supplies, the need was urgent and largely unmet by public assistance programs. What began in Jamie’s garage has grown into Georgia and Tennessee’s leading baby supply bank.

Today, Helping Mamas supports families through a network of over 150 community partners, distributing diapers, baby supplies, clothing, and period products to those who need them most. In fact, 47% of families in need are forced to choose between purchasing diapers and buying food for their child, highlighting the critical importance of access to these essentials.
