CO Featured Mom: Meet Sarah

Motherhood is a journey as unique as you are, so it can often feel like you're doing it alone. Here at Colored Organics, we love to unite you, even if it's only virtually, to share some wisdom and camaraderie on the rollercoaster journey of parenting. We are so excited to share some insights on motherhood from Michigan-based mama Sarah!

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF!

I'm a stay at home mom (SAHM) who works from home part-time. I have a wonderful husband, the sweetest 2-year-old boy named Ezra, and a little one on the way. I love to read, write, go on sunny walks around our block, and grow flowers in our little garden. My favorite time of the day is when everyone comes home and we can spend family time together, whether on our porch or in our warm living room. I firmly believe the home should be a cozy, safe haven where love grows, laughter echoes, and our family can rest, reconnect, and find comfort every day.

WHAT'S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PARENT?

Looking into the eyes of your little one and knowing that out of your love, you created this human being. I'll never get over those small moments and knowing that we have the privilege to walk our children through this world, teaching them how to love and care for others.

WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT PARENTHOOD?

The amount of times I have to keep a straight face when I want to laugh, especially with a toddler!

WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE TO YOU?

Sitting on my porch in an Adirondack chair with a cool breeze, a book, a cozy blanket, and watching the sun set over our property.

WHAT CHORE WOULD YOU FOREVER OUTSOURCE?

Cooking dinner! I love to cook, but it would be so lovely to have a meal made once a day that I wouldn't have to think about.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF COLORED ORGANICS?

I love that Colored Organics cares about their community by giving back. It was one of the things that drew me to Colored Organics in the first place, and I'm so grateful that they continue to push to make their community better through their initiatives.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO AN EXPECTING MAMA?

During the hard moments, make sure to take a moment to breathe, give yourself grace, and remind yourself that you are doing an amazing job. I always like to say that grace is like sunscreen: you're probably not applying enough.
