Motherhood is a journey as unique as you are, so it can often feel like you're doing it alone. Here at Colored Organics, we love to unite you, even if it's only virtually, to share some wisdom and camaraderie on the rollercoaster journey of parenting. We are so excited to share some insights on motherhood from Utah-based mama Kylie!
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF!
Iโm Kylie Olsen! Iโm a wife to the best dentist around and a stay-at-home mom of two. We live in Utah and enjoy spending time outdoors in the mountains: hiking, kayaking, snow tubing, and snowboarding are some of our favorites. It wasnโt easy getting my babies here. After years of infertility, surgery, and two IVF cycles I was able to get my two miracle babies. My 2-year-old daughter Blakely miraculously came from my first IVF cycle, my second IVF cycle failed, and my newborn son Brooks surprised us and I naturally became pregnant just a couple months after that failed cycle. Along with doing my favorite job of being a mom every day, I assist my husband in running our dental office.ย
WHAT'S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PARENT?
The most rewarding part about being a parent is getting to watch your babies learn and grow. Seeing them find their cute little personalities and interests is just so much fun!

WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT PARENTHOOD?
The most surprising thing about parenthood is the mixed feelings you have all at the same time of missing how little your baby used to be, loving the stage they are at now, while also being excited to see them grow and get older. Itโs all so bittersweet!
WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE TO YOU?
My self-care consists of long showers, online shopping, and enjoying my favorite treat, ice cream!

WHAT CHORE WOULD YOU FOREVER OUTSOURCE?
Laundry! It feels like itโs never-ending and that thereโs always something needing to be washed when youโre a mom.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF COLORED ORGANICS?
My favorite part of Colored Organics is the softness and comfort of the 100% organic cotton in every piece my babies wear without having to sacrifice cute styles!ย

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO AN EXPECTING MAMA?
I would say be easy on yourself and take time for yourself even if it is as simple as taking a shower, getting yourself ready, or enjoying your favorite treat - it goes a long way! Soak in every moment with your little one because each stage goes by so quickly and they are only little for so long. If you canโt get all of your โto-doโ list done or feel like you havenโt done much, just remember all the things you did to keep your baby healthy and happy! That is a lot in itself. My favorite advice I received is: when someone offers advice to you say thank you, take what you need from it, leave the rest, then trust yourself because you will know what is best for your baby.
