CO Featured Mom: Meet Danielle

Motherhood is a journey as unique as you are, so it can often feel like you're doing it alone. Here at Colored Organics, we love to unite you, even if it's only virtually, to share some wisdom and camaraderie on the rollercoaster journey of parenting. We are so excited to share some insights on motherhood from California-based mama Danielle!

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF!

Hi, I’m Danielle! I live in Santa Monica with my husband, our baby girl, and our golden retriever. I run my own content creation business and was recently promoted to mama. I love being outside, traveling, staying active, exploring, and eating good food—and it’s been so special experiencing all of it with a baby in tow.

WHAT'S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PARENT?

The most rewarding part is also the most challenging, being the only one who can comfort her at times. I’m incredibly proud of myself and my body for growing, birthing, and nourishing her. I look at her in awe, knowing she was once inside me, and I’m amazed by how much she has changed in just seven months.

WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT PARENTHOOD?

There are days when I feel like I have it all figured out, and others when I feel like I have nothing figured out at all. Just when you think you’ve figured one thing out, something changes. It’s wild how someone so small can change your life so dramatically, for the better. Our whole world revolves around her.

WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE TO YOU?

Self-care looks like early morning workouts, nourishing meals when I can, and making an effort to feel put together. It’s making time for my husband and girlfriends, asking for help, and learning to delegate. Above all, it’s a daily practice of giving myself grace because the to-do list never ends, but being present with my daughter matters most.

WHAT CHORE WOULD YOU FOREVER OUTSOURCE?

I’d happily outsource cleanup forever. I love to cook, but now that my daughter is eating solids, the kitchen is a constant mess. I wish I could get totally creative without even thinking about the cleanup.


WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF COLORED ORGANICS?

A lot of baby clothing may look cute, but it’s made from synthetic materials. Baby skin is so perfect and sensitive, which is why I’ve been very intentional about the clothing I buy. I love that Colored Organics offers adorable pieces made with organic fabrics that are environmentally friendly, naturally hypoallergenic, and gentle on baby’s skin.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO AN EXPECTING MAMA?

No two motherhood journeys look the same, and everything you’re feeling is completely valid. Try not to compare and know that what works for someone else may not be right for you. Soak in each stage, because as much as we hate to hear it, it truly goes so fast. Embrace the chaos and savor that newborn bubble.
