Motherhood is a journey as unique as you are, so it can often feel like you're doing it alone. Here at Colored Organics, we love to unite you together, even if it's only virtually, to share some wisdom and camaraderie on the rollercoaster journey of parenting. We are so excited to share some motherhood insights from Mississippi-based mama, Brittany!
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF!
My name is Brittany, mother of 3 babies earth side, 2 in heaven, while growing our last baby. I am passionate about content creation, sustainability, and homesteading. Homemaking is what I do on a day-to-day basis, and I find a lot of fulfillment and joy in it.
WHAT'S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PARENT?
The most rewarding part of being a parent is the grace our children grant us. None of us are perfect, and majority (if not all) of us are just trying to figure out this parenting thing day-by-day or minute-by-minute. Despite our many faults, our babies still give us so much grace. True unconditional love.
WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT PARENTHOOD?
The most surprising thing about motherhood to me is the fact that I don’t always enjoy it. I think I speak for a lot of parents when I say parenting is hard and sometimes not enjoyable at all. It’s a humbling experience becoming a parent. Realizing that every day isn’t a walk in the park and some days require you to re-parent yourself before jumping into the role of the parent for your child.
WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE TO YOU?
Self-care for me looks like really long showers, an extensive skin care routine, drives alone, naps, and journaling.
WHAT CHORE WOULD YOU FOREVER OUTSOURCE?
I would consistently outsource bathroom duties. It’s my absolute least fave.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF COLORED ORGANICS?
My favorite part of Colored Organics is the mission. The selflessness that Colored Organics as a brand possess with promises to give back. Every purchase helping a child in need makes me feel as though my purchases are far beyond clothes for my children.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO AN EXPECTING MAMA?
GIVE YOURSELF GRACE. I have 3 living babies, and I am constantly learning. None of us are perfect, despite what social media has eluded to. Your journey is your very own, and you’re going to do great. I’m proud of you!
