CO Featured Mom: Meet Aliza

 /

Motherhood is a journey as unique as you are, so it can often feel like you're doing it alone. Here at Colored Organics, we love to unite you, even if it's only virtually, to share some wisdom and camaraderie on the rollercoaster journey of parenting. We are so excited to share some insights on motherhood from Massachusetts-based mama Aliza!

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF!

I’m Aliza! I’m a wife, mom to three, and a developmental specialist working in early intervention. I married my high school sweetheart, and we are raising our littles in the town where we grew up in Massachusetts, which is bittersweet. We have a five-year-old Logan and three-year-old twin girls, Lydia and Lucie!

WHAT'S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PARENT?

This is such a tricky question because every stage of parenthood thus far has come with its own rewards! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching my littles hit each milestone and grow in and out of every stage of infancy, babyhood, toddlerhood, and onward. Speaking as a twin parent, it has been exceptionally rewarding watching my girls develop into their own personalities and honoring their differences and similarities.

WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT PARENTHOOD?

The never-ending mental load. There is always an ongoing list of appointments that need to be made, items that need to be purchased, extra curricular activities, a meal to be prepped/made, and remembering what each of our littles likes and doesn’t like from clothes, activities, and what goes in their lunchbox. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t change a thing!

WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE TO YOU?

For me, I look forward to my morning cup of coffee. It is the only thing everyday that is mine and only mine. I don’t have to share it with little hands, and the expectation is that I can enjoy it before diving into whatever each day brings.

WHAT CHORE WOULD YOU FOREVER OUTSOURCE?

As much as I’d like to say cleaning my kids' playroom, I know that one day I will miss all of the little pieces and big messes, so I think that I would forever outsource the never-ending dishes!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF COLORED ORGANICS?

There are so many reasons we reach for Colored Organics clothing for our littles. Not only do we love that Colored Organic pieces are made of organic cotton, but we love that each piece holds its quality wash after wash. The pieces feature various textures, are buttery soft, and the color palette is always beautifully selected. Lastly, we love that each piece we are able to save to pass down because they are designed to last!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO AN EXPECTING MAMA?

Everything is fleeting and temporary, so soak it all in. The good moments, the bad moments, their size, the sleepless nights, the messes, the tears, being touched out. All of it is temporary, and you will one day wish to have the moments back.
