2023: Our Year In Review

 /

Amidst the dynamic landscape of 2023, Colored Organics had some great accomplishments. We proudly introduced captivating new collections featuring luxurious textures, welcomed new members to our CO family, and passionately pursued our most impactful philanthropic initiatives to date. In a year filled with challenges, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our amazing customers, steadfast wholesale partners, and the dedicated Colored Organics team.

Together, we accomplished a significant milestone, donating over $130,000 and clothing for numerous children in need. We are truly grateful for the support that has fueled our success and allowed us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Refugee Care Collective

With a fresh start upon us, the Colored Organics team reunited post-holiday season with fresh vision and excitement for what was to come in the year ahead. To mark the start of the year with generosity, we partnered with Refugee Care Collective to extend support and empower refugees within the Portland, Oregon area. With our donation, we assisted these resilient individuals in the journey of rebuilding their lives.

Mamatoto Village

During the chilly month of February, our team started thinking of Spring and gearing up for our Sea Collection's much-anticipated launch. This month, we partnered with Mamatoto Village to help equip Black women with the necessary resources and tools to make informed decisions in their maternity care, parenting, and lives.

The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation

As March unfolded, the days came filled with celebration! Our team gained a wonderful new team member to the CO family - Welcome, Kelsey! Throughout the month, we launched three new collections: Sea, Waffle, and Pointelle! Our team also celebrated International Women's Day by paying homage to the remarkable women who shape our lives. As a woman-owned and operated company, we believe in the magic and power of women everywhere to change the world. On top of all the celebrating, the Sea Collection also introduced the Whale Print, our first print with a purpose in 2023. We pledged to donate 20% of the proceeds from each Whale item to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation to help ensure the health and diversity of the ocean for future generations to enjoy.

Helping Mamas

April started on a grand note, launching the first half of our Meadow Collection! We also added another awesome team member to CO - Welcome, Carrie! For our give-back initiative during the month, we partnered with Helping Mamas to help provide essential baby items and menstrual products to mothers in need. We are honored to donate baby and children's clothing to an organization that works to connect "helping mamas" with mothers in need of support.

The Planet Bee Foundation

May was marked with the unveiling of Drop 2 of our Meadow Collection, which included seven new colors and our largest Muslin collection to date. The Meadow Collection's standout feature was the Bee print's introduction—our second print with a purpose for the year. Demonstrating our commitment to environmental stewardship, we pledged to contribute 20% of the proceeds from each Bee print item to The Planet Bee Foundation to help protect these essential creatures and preserve their thriving environment.

Red White & Babies

In June, we released new summer styles with the Seersucker Collection, which included our clean and crisp Shore Stripe print. We partnered with Red White and Babies to help provide essential baby items to military, law enforcement, and first responder families. Additionally, we launched Kendi, a line of toys, gear, and accessories, as part of Colored Organics!

Tiny Miracles

During July, we embraced the summer celebrations and warm weather. We also hosted our largest Sample Sale to date from our sunny office in Minneapolis! We had a great turnout, and it was a joy meeting so many moms and families from our local area. Throughout the month, we partnered with Tiny Miracles for our give-back to help support families with premature babies by offering comfort, support, guidance, and hope.

Sharebaby

We said goodbye to summer and hello to prepping for the arrival of our adorable Autumn Winter Collections during August. This month, we partnered with ShareBaby, which helps address the unmet basic needs of Baltimore's most vulnerable young children through the distribution of diapers and other essential items.

Grace to Give Foundation

September brought a change in seasons as the beautiful fall and changing leaves appeared! We launched Drop 1 of our new Autumn and Winter collection, The Redwoods. On top of it all, we partnered with the Grace to Give Foundation, which is committed to providing assistance and support to impoverished women, youth, and children in the United States and Africa.

Save The Redwoods League

October arrived, and so did many new textures and prints! We released several of our new fall collections: the Redwoods (Drop 2), Ribbed, Pointelle, Flannel, Sweater, and Corduroy. As a part of the Redwoods Collection, we released our Woods print, our final print with a purpose for the year. We pledged to donate 20% of the proceeds from each Woods item to the Save the Redwoods League to protect & restore the redwood forests and its community. During the month, we also partnered with First Steps, LLC, which supports new and expecting moms by providing free resources to help low-income women and their children in Milwaukee County build better lives. As if October wasn’t exciting enough, we launched our [CO]ins Loyalty Program for our wonderful customers to earn exclusive rewards when shopping with CO!

Baby2Baby

As November approached, we launched another cozy collection full of holiday patterns for winter: the Holiday Jammie Collection included eight different holiday patterns to snuggle up in. We teamed up with Baby2Baby for a “one-for-one” giveback that included donating a garment for every item purchased on Giving Tuesday. We are proud to have donated over $100,000 in garments.

Room To Grow

With the year coming to a close, our team wrapped up 2023 items and started the inspiration for the year to come! We partnered with Room to Grow to help support families raising babies born into low-income circumstances. Their program provides comprehensive services and helps to eliminate cross-generational barriers.

Happy Holidays from Colored Organics

As we reflect on the past year, we want to sincerely thank you for supporting our small, woman-owned & operated business in this historical year for Colored Organics. It brings us so much joy to look back on the new collections we’ve released, all the adorable babes we were able to share our clothing with, and the lives impacted by our donations this past year. We couldn't do what we do without all of our amazing community members, and we can't wait to see what's in store for us in 2024!
